Hobbycrafts Show–Project Sneak Peeks

As promised here are a couple of sneaky little peeks.  If you want to see them properly, you’ll need to stop by our stand BB30 Stampin’ Up! or wait until next week when I shall blog them for you.

I’m also going to try (if the 3G reception is good there) to blog update you during the day….well maybe not during as we hope to be very busy but maybe at the start or end of the show.

So here are your sneak peeks…

A new theme…

A new blog theme and background! So do you like it?  I love it.
I did like the old one but something just wasn't right with it.  I couldn’t make up my mind what it was and in the end I realised it was too busy looking for me.
I don’t spend much time looking at my blog, I’m usually sitting in the back here writing my posts for all you lovely blog followers and readers out there so when I did go to look at my blog I just didn’t feel it was giving off the right feel for my personality.
So back to the lovely Angie I went and asked her if she would be happy to rework the whole look from scratch again!  Thankfully Angie is such a sweetheart that it was no problem at all and this time I knew more what i wanted.
Now whilst the design isn’t Stampin’ Up! the colours are, well as near to the RGB codes that I could find on the web for them.  There are some very lovely people out there that had already done the hard work  there and so I said to Angie I wanted to go with Pink Pirouette, Early Espresso and Lucky Limeade.  I fancied a little Owl this time and I even gave into a couple of flowers.  And in true Elaine style some bling!  I love the little rhinestones down the scallop edges and the swirl rhinestones in the headers.  They so remind me of our wonderful Basic Rhinestones.
At the side of my blog is a contact button for Angie.  So if you have a little old blog of your own that you feel would like a little refresh go ahead and contact her.  She would love to hear from you.  And if you do get her to update your blog please leave me a comment on this thread and I will pop a little mention on here for you.
Well that’s it for now, I’m still very busy making sure I have got all the bits ready for the Hobbycrafts show that I am doing this weekend coming at Glow Bluewater Events Venue, Kent.  Please be sure to pop by and say hello if you are coming.  You’ll find Pat, Kim, Annette and myself there all set to show you some fabulous projects.  I’ll give you a couple of sneak peeks later.
Happy crafting….

ILWS Mini/SAB Pre-order Swap

One of the benefits of being a Stampin’ UP! Demonstrator is being able to order a selection of upcoming products before they are released to you my lovely readers. How brilliant is that?  If you want to know more or would like to become a Stampin’ Up! Demonstrator please get in touch and I can show you how.

So, as I was saying we get to have pre-order items from our future catalogue.  Back at the end of November we received the news that we would be getting our new Mini Catalogue and Sale-a-Bration catalogue in the new year and we could pre order some fabulous products in preparation for that.

One of my Fellow Demo’s, the lovely Pat, organised a swap using only products from those two catalogues.   Ten of us took part and sent Pat 10 of the same card.  She then sent 1 of each persons back to us.

I used the Spice Cake DSP which I got on a massive 20% bundle that consisted of:-

  • Spiced Paisley Wood-Mount Set or Spiced Paisley Clear-Mount Set
  • Spice Cake Designer Series Paper
  • Spice Cake Designer Fabric
  • Spice Cake Designer Buttons

Wow!!! 20% off all of that!

And here is my submission. Now I do have to admit that the Spice Cake has really grown on me.  I love the way the colours go together so well and the Pool Party just pops out at you!

I used the INSPIRE, CREATE & SHARE stamp from the Charming stamp set and the flowers are from the Spiced Paisley set.  I added and antique brad to the centre of the larger flower and mounted it on Stampin’ Dimensionals

A small piece of Pool Party cardstock sits just behind the DSP which has been edged with the Scallop Trim Border Punch.

Now I am not sure if you can see it very well but the Inspire stamp panel has been spritzed with the Champagne Mist Shimmer Paint.  I mixed a few drops with some 70% rubbing alcohol in a fine mister that I got from a pharmacy.

I hope you liked my submission.  I had a lot of fun putting them together.

Post it note holder

Here’s a fab project to make. Desktop Post it Note holders.  Although I am sure you could very well put memo block paper in there to keep by the phone to make notes.

I just knew when I saw it I had to make a batch of them.  I gave some of my children's teachers them as little Christmas Presents.

The papers are from the Hostess Designer Series Papers called Cheerful Treat.  I just love the colours in these papers.

I’ll be back with another project soon.

Hello….

Well Hello there!

I don’t know about you but sometimes I just like to make cards with a little…..less.

A little less bling, a little less layers, just a little less.  So when I put together this card for you all to see, that’s what I did.

The card base is Old Olive with a Whisper White matting layer.  I stamped the image and sentiment stamp from the wonderful Easy Events stamp set in Staz On Black and then water-coloured the image using my blender pens and ink pads using Old Olive, Daffodil Delights, Soft Suede and Crumb Cake.

I punched the image out using a circle punch and mounted it directly onto the decorative scallop circle from the Perfect Pennants Die.

I hope you like it.  I’ll be back soon with more fab projects.

Happy New Year and Happy New Mini Catalogue

That's right, just as you thought that things couldn't get better we have a new Spring Mini Catalogue.  It runs from 4 January to 30th April.  This is the first Spring Mini in the european market and it has certainly hit the mark.  I have thumbed my way through my copy so many times.  Oh and ordered lots from it. :-)  I just love the new range of wonderful crafting goodies that Stampin' Up! has released.

You can see a copy of the new Mini Catalogue by clicking here.

How many times have you been getting yourself ready for an evening out trying to find the right jewellery to wear?  Not any more.  In the new Mini we have the Simply Adorned range.  Wonderful chic pieces that you can personalise with your own mini works of art.  You have a choice of 4 locket style adornemends to put onto a chain or bracelet, along with baubles and trinkets to produce truly unique and interchangerble jewellery.  They make such wonderful gifts and you can personalise each one to the person, or to the event that they may be attending.  You could even make a whole set of inserts for the larger Simply Adorned Charms.

There is now the most fabulous mess-free Glitter paper in stunning Real Red.  The sparkle off this is truly amazing!  I absolutely love this as a different way to add some pizzazz to a project whther it be for Valentines day or Christmas, a wedding card or an anniversary.  No matter how big or small you want your piece it will not lose it's sparkle.

Gorgeous new velvet ribbon, stamp sets and papers.  There is definitely something for eveyone!  I'll be bringing you some projects really soon.

If you would like a free copy or you would like to place an order please contact me today at sassystampers@gmail.com or on 07825 655 044
