Feeling a little Twitterpated!

Today’s projects come to you using the new, and very gorgeous Twitterpated Designer Series Papers! Have you got them yet? No? Don’t forget you can order them from me at any time.

So first up is a neat little card based on a design from a previous card class. This time though instead of the Saleabration papers as the backdrop, I have used the very pretty little flowers sheet from Twitterpated DSP as my 1st Mat layer.

DSC02577

My second layer is Blushing Bride which I have punched out 3 hearts using the Triple Heart Punch, allowing you to get a peak at the fabby papers below. Using the White Gel Pen, I have faux stitched around the edge and adhered some of our new Blushing Bride Pleated Satin Ribbon across.

Using the Labels Framelits dies I die cut a piece of DSP which I have soften the edges using a Sponge Dauber and Island Indigo Ink, and the smaller piece is cut from of Whisper White. The Happy Birthday greeting is from Petite Pairs and is stamped in Island Indigo. I layered these together added the largest pearls from our Basic Pearls and adhered it to my card using Stampin’ Dimensionals.

As if that wasn’t enough, I then went on to make this cute little photo frame for my desk. This is my youngest daughter Cameron. It was taken at nursery some time ago and I have been looking to use it somewhere. The colours in the photo just lend themselves to the Twitterpated range.

DSC02582

The frame is actually a plain drinks coaster (beer mat) that I had in my stash. Actually I have a lot of them in my stash left over from a share over on a certain forum, and I am always looking for ways to use them!

DSC02583

I used the Labels Framelits dies to cut out a piece of Island Indigo cardstock, which I then ran back through the Big Shot in the Vintage Wallpaper Textured Impressions Embossing Folder. I then spritzed this with the Silver Shimmer Mist that I have mixed with some rubbing alcohol in a spritzer bottle.

For the flower I used the Five Point Flower punch to punch out 2 flowers, one in Riding Hood Red and the other in Blushing Bride. The centre of the flower was punched from the Twitterpated DSP using the Boho Blossoms punch.

DSC02584

I didn’t take a photo of the back but I did add and stand to the back for it to stay upright, but you could put it on one of those mini easel stands that I have seen about.

Add a cute photo of Cameron (or your own child/grandchild of course J ) and there you have your Coaster Frame.

Oh, yes – Cameron – Some of you will wonder if she is named after Cameron Diaz, alas no. Some off you know my love of Stargate and if you are familiar with that you’ll have realised that Cameron was one of the leaders of the SG1 team ;-) Okay yes he’s a guy, but she was going to be Cameron if she had been a boy or a girl. We did however chose different middle names for her just in case.  Although one of those is Teyla - another Stargate reference, this time from Stargate Atlantis.  I just hope she’ll forgive me later in life Winking smile

I hope you have enjoyed these.

Take Care and happy crafting!

Imitation Is The Best Form Of Flattery

Last year I took part in a fun Secret Santa Christmas Card over on ILWS.  Each person put their name in and how many cards they wanted to send.  The organiser then sent us the names and addresses of those people who we were to send our cards to.

I received the following card from the lovely and very talented Dawn.  I love the card so much that I have kept it on my craft desk waiting for an opportunity to CASE the design.  Don’t they say that imitation is the best form of flattery? I hope Dawn thinks so Smile

And here is my take on it…..

DSC02567

I used Riding Hood Red cardstock as my three mats and the scallop circle. With a White Gel pen I added a dot into each scallop on the circle.

I stamped and watercoloured the image from Bordering on Romance and punched it out using the 1 ¾ circle punch.  The striped paper is from the Twitterpated DSP.

I used the very pretty Whisper White Organza ribbon for the banner and bow, although I think really I should have perhaps dyed it or used a different colour ribbon.

This is going to be a definite card layout that I will used again and again as I just love it!  Thank you Dawn for the inspiration.

Take care & Happy Crafting.

Sometimes you just need to not think….

Did you like the stamp set I used before in the Blog Hop post? You did? Great! I've got more projects to come in a blog post really soon!

Well as I said in my last post, I have been making lots of different projects for you to see and here are a couple more.  This time using the stamp set Tea Shoppe!

Tea Shoppe - Wood-Mount Stamp

I really really love the set, but I have to admit….I had a complete crafters block when I sat down to use it. It drove me nuts for 2 whole days! I just didn’t know what I wanted to do with it, what colours would work well. So I got Nothing, Nada, Zilch!

So instead of trying to create a card, scrap page or 3D project, I grabbed my box of scraps and just stamped, cut, die cut, punched and textured! I had no real thought of what I wanted at the end of it and just ended up with a pile of stamped images and elements that sort of just fitted.

The first card I have for you was my first idea after the crafters block…Not my favourite but main part I do like is the “steam” coming from the cup….

DSC02574

I used the swirled from the very gorgeous Everything Eleanor and stamped in Basic Grey onto Whisper White. The cup was then stamped in Rich Razzleberry directly onto the Whisper White so that I could make it look like the cup had swirly steam coming out.

As I had stamped 2 of the cups I cut another out minus the handle and applied Stampin Dimensionals to the back, 1 layer thick on the edge of the cup and 2 layers thick in the middle. When I mounted this above the one already stamped, the dimensionals gave the cup a curve look just like a real cup has.

DSC02575

I popped this onto a Rich Razzleberry card based and added little Basic Rhinestones to the flower centres just for a little bit of bling. I’m still toying with the idea of adding some Dazzling Diamond Glitter to the steam. What do you think?

My next one for you uses the little tea cups from the set. Aren’t they just so sweet?

DSC02576

I stamped them in Regal Rose, Certainly Celery and Pretty in Pink.

I had die cut a Top Note using the Big Shot and then ran it through again using the Square lattice Textured Impressions Embossing Folder

DSC02581

The greeting was stamped in Regal Rose and punched out using the small Oval Punch. I punched a small hole in and attached it using our new Whisper White Bakers Twine! Did you know we have this in several colours, but the white can be coloured using your Stampin’ Up! Markers so you can have bakers twine in any colour you like?

I then mounted the little tea cups on and attached the top note onto a Pretty in Pink card base.

I hope you like the cards I have made to show you. Just remember, we all suffer with creative block….or a loss of our creative mojo at times. Sometimes it just helps to just play with our stash without a project in mind and just see where those stamped images and dies cuts fall.

More to come soon.

Take care, and Happy Crafting!

Along with these wonderful Labels Collection Framelits Dies from Sizzix and Stampin’ up! These also co-ordinate beautifully with the new Apothocary Art stamp set, which I am sure someone on this hop will have used.

clip_image006

So onto my creations. First up I have a couple of cards for you.

First one uses River Rock as it’s base and I have stamped the daisy looking image in Craft Whisper White ink in the bottom left of the card. The Labels framelit has been die cut from Lucky Limeade and stamped with the same image in Lucky Limeade ink.

DSC02441

The greeting is from For My Family stamp set and punched out using the modern label. The centre of the flower is one of our gorgeous 2011-2013 In Color Designer Printed Brads.

clip_image008

My next one uses Crumb Cake as it’s base and has the same daisy flower stamped again in Whisper White Craft Ink. The flower has been stamped in Pool party and punched out. The flower centre was stamped in Lucky Limeade and punched out with my 1” Circle Punch and the greeting from For My Family stamp set is used again with the modern label punch.
