Scrapbook Swap part 2

Good morning.  Well as promised here are the other pages from the scrapbook swap that i took part in before Christmas.

First up we have this gorgeous layout by Karin Fidler.  Notice the stamping in the bottom right hand corner.  This is from The Open Sea stamp set.  it adds a nice touch to the page.

This next one is from Ally Fiddy.  I love how Ally used a Textured Impressions Embossing folder to make the Christmas tree.  The little Crumbcake Tulle bow is fabulous.  If you haven’t bought any already you only have until January 31st to get some from our Autumn/Winter catalogue. You can see more of Ally’s creations here

DSC03007

I love this next one from Emily Thompson.  The paper bunting looks gorgeous.  Can you see the ribbon on the tag?  You pull that out to have some hidden journaling for your page.  You can find more of Emily’s projects here

DSC03008

Here we have a “Fun” project from Carolyn Exwood.  Carolyn has used the International Bazaar Designer Series Paper’s for a fun splash of colour.  Did you notice the Rhinestone's – now you know how much I love my touch of bling!  Carolyn’s blog can be found here

DSC03009

And last but not least  is Michelle Bryant’s page.  This features the Aviary stamp set.  Remember my new Filofax and my new found love the Aviary set.  Well this page cements the deal.  It’s such a great stamp set.  I love the stacked cages on the right all higgledy piggledy.

You can find more of Michele’s projects on her website here

Well I hope you have got lots of inspiration from all of these pages over the last 2 posts.  I know I have.  If there is anything you would like to order please do let me know, and don’t forget our Sale-a-bration (SAB) promotion where for every £45 you spend you can pick out one of our limited edition stamp sets or accessories from the SAB catalogue.

Until next time

Happy crafting

Scrapbook Swap

I am really behind with showing  you what's been going on of late.  I am desperately trying to catch up and bring you all those fabulous projects that you come here to see.

I do have a bit of an excuse, just after new year I had one of those winter colds that leaves you feeling a little Blurgh.  Once I was back on my feet, I had a few days grace to start writing up blog posts and making projects for you to see.  Then as the snow started…our heating broke down.  Very long story short…it took 2 weeks to get fixed (house temp went down to 6 degrees C) and another week for us to thaw out, me catch up on household & family stuff.  For those 2 weeks waiting to get it fixed we went on an “adventure”, at least that's what I led the children to believe!  We stayed at their grandparents and in a local hotel.  I was so glad to get home, do laundry of all things!  AS for our children, all in all they did fantastically well the whole time.  That’s no mean feat for 2 little ones aged 3 and 6.

Well enough of me, lets get onto the project catch up.

Just before Christmas I organised a Scrapbook page swap with some of my fellow demonstrators.  The rules were pages to be 8” x 8”, exclusively Stampin’ Up!., products and have fun.

Here’s my submission.

I used the wonderful Creative Elements stamp set.  The colour scheme is Basic Black, Very Vanilla and Marina Mist.  And as I sit here typing this I realise these are the colours in my craft room!

I used Whisper White Craft ink to stamp the flourish onto the main page.  Marina Mist was added to the First Edition Speciality paper using a Sponge Dauber.

Oh how I love that flower!

That little rhinestone in the centre is gorgeous isn’t it?

Hmm, do you think I should have added a rhinestone on the body of this gorgeous butterfly?

I hope you like it as much as I do.  I will post up the others tomorrow for you.

Thanks for stopping by.

Happy crafting.

Tags!

I’m on a tag making fest at the moment.  I like the fact that they are like a mini bit of art.  I expect it’s like making ATC (Artists Trading Cards), ooh now there's another project for me to do!

The tag has been made with the Two Tags Big Die.  I die cut it first in Soft Suede, and then in First Edition Specialty Papers and stuck the two together. Using my sponge Daubers I edged it in a little Crumb Cake ink.

DSC03000

The greeting is from Petite pairs stamped Soft Suede onto Very Vanilla and punched using the Modern label die.  Using my sponge Daubers again I edged it in a little Crumb Cake ink.

I ran the back of the greeting over with double sided tape and then ruffled some Crumb Cake Taffeta ribbon around the back edges.  I just love how it turned out.

A couple of little butterfly's from the Beautiful Wings Embosslits in Regal Rose and Silver Glimmer paper.

DSC03001

I’ve added some Crumb Cake Taffeta ribbon and Regal Rose 3.2mm Taffeta Ribbon at the top of the tag just to finish it off. I have a few more tags being made which I will post up soon.

Until then….

Ooh a new book….

How are you today?  Have the recent snow flurries affected you?  If it has i hope it has given you some crafting time if you are not able to get out.

As part of my new year re-organisation I decided to treat myself to a new diary.  I wanted something that looked crafty, but was functional.  I debated about an Organised Mum diary, had a look on the bay, amazon etc.  And then I found it!  I love it, it’s sooooo Stampin’ Up! and yet it’s not even been made by or for them.

DSC03016

It’s made by Filofax but the design reminded me of the Aviary stamp set in the catalogue.

Aviary

I can see now that this is a set I am going to now have to add to my stash, I have so many ideas for it!  It’s amazing where you can find inspiration.

I also decided that I also needed a note book.  A while ago hubby brought home some A5 ring bound books.  They have a ton of ruled pages that are just great for making lots of notes in.  But in true crafting style, I needed to pretty it up!

Now I have a fair bit of crafting loveliness in my craft room.  Lots of new exciting stuff to use.  But I decided to reach for some retired papers to cover the book.  You see the one thing that I love with Stampin’ Up!., product is that you can go back to it again and again.  And especially the fact that all the colours match so perfectly, you know that you’ll always have something to match that's current.  So Stampin’ Up!., really doesn’t go out of style!

DSC03011

DSC03012

And I even covered the inside of the cover…

DSC03014

So from plain old boring book to fabulous Everyday Enchantment Notes. These gorgeous Saleabration papers from last year are still looking good today!  Although I am thinking I may just make another in the papers from this years Saleabration set!  Watch this space!

Happy crafting!

Happy New Year

Happy New Year to you all!  Where did the holiday season go so fast?  We spend so much time preparing for it and then it’s over with in what seams like a flash!

Did you have a fun filled festive time?  Did you manage to sneak in some crafting?

I had hoped to bring you some blog posts over the festive period but I had littlies ill, family and various other stuff going on that I didn’t get near the laptop for days!  I was getting withdrawals from crafting as well i can tell you!

So here’s a quick update of Christmas for you and yes there was a tiny bit of crafting in there!

Just before the children broke up from school before Christmas they came home with these…

Christingle

They are called Christingles.  Well where we used to live the schools never took part in this tradition.  So this was a lot of fun for the children learning about the meaning behind them.  If you want to find out more you can see it here

Late on Christmas eve after the children got into their PJ’s we wrapped them up in coats and their wellies to put out some magic reindeer food.  Well you have to be sure that the reindeer know where to stop, and seeing as we have more room for the sleigh out the front of the house than the back at the moment Jaden and Cameron sprinkled lots of it all over the front lawn!

Reindeer Food

Reindeer food Christmas Eve

Boy were the children spoilt on Christmas dy.  They had so many presents under and around the tree that they ended up opening them in 2 batches!  Do you like the red in the tree?  The ribbon was a bit to wide to make bows to put on so all i did was take lengths, cut them at a diagonal and push them into the tree for a slightly different look.  It’s OK that’s not the crafty bit i mentioned earlier,  there is more.

IMG_0229

At new year, we always have a nice gathering of our friends for an evening of food, drink, giggle and a New Years Quiz that spans 2 years.  That’s right we start in on December 31st and Finish on New Years Day!

We had a fabulous night and the quiz went really well all thanks to my husband Steve who had spent a couple of months working on it.

Onto the crafty bit…see I promised didn’t i?

I tend to go for throw away plates and cutlery at New Year.  It just makes things easier, but I wanted to house the cutlery in some nice containers.  Even if they were plastic knives and forks!  So on the run up to Christmas I saved up a few food tins and made these…

IMG_2533

I used the Newspaper print Designer Series papers and  Framelits Labels die for the background and then the Modern and Decorative label punches for the name plates.

You can just about see that I wrapped the Spice Cake fabric around the middle of the tin.  I cut a strip about 2 inches thick and frayed the edges before sticking it to the tin.

Add a couple of butterflies and some Basic Rhinestones and there you have some very pretty, shabby, repurposed tins.

IMG_2534

I even used one for some flowers!

IMG_2536

I hope you enjoyed today’s post and the repurposed tins.  I think they would look gorgeous used for family summer barbeques or even as pen pots for your desk.

I'll be back soon with some more bits from pre-Christmas that I haven’t had an opportunity to show you, plus some new bits that i have been working on.

Happy crafting!
