Simple yet stylish…

Isn’t amazing what you can do with card, papers and a punch?  This is so amazingly simple to make.

DSC00882

It was made from some leftover Lap of Luxury Designer Series Paper and matching cardstock.

I took a piece of spare Pretty in Pink cardstock and a spare piece of Lap of Luxury DSP and attached them onto a Concord Crush card base.

I stamped the Happy Birthday stamp from the Perfect Punches stamp set in Concord Crush (My new favourite Purple) on to Whisper White cardstock and punched it out using the Extra large Oval.  Using the Extra Large Oval Punch I also punched out a Pretty in Pink and Concord Crush Ovals.  These were attached to the stamped oval with SNAIL, and then onto the card base using Stampin’ Dimensionals.

There you go, simple yet stylish.

Greenhouse Gala Birthday

Isn’t it gorgeous?  I just love this card.
DSC00886
The flowers have been cut out of one of the 12 x 12 inch sheets from the Greenhouse Gala Designer Series Papers (DSP), and adhered to Early Espresso cardstock mat.  I used Gold Elastic Thread (Page 96 in the IB&C) to tie around the Early Espresso cardstock.
The greeting is stamped in Early espresso on Whisper White Cardstock, using the Happy Birthday stamp from the Perfect Punches stamp set.  I punched this out with the Extra Large Oval punch and mounted it onto the card using Stampin’ Dimensionals. I then mounted all of this directly onto a Whisper White greeting card.
I think the Gold Elastic Thread just sets this card off.  It’s an essential for your craft room and just shows it’s not just for Christmas!

Beware Pirates - Arrrr!

The night before Convention 2010, Monica Gale & Natalie O’Shea had organised a Pre-Convention party with a quiz, time for swaps and make and takes.  It was a great pre-event, event.  I had so much fun meeting all the other Stampin’ Up! Demonstrators there, making my projects and just generally hanging out with some very talented crafters.

The first project was an awesome 6x6” scrapbook page using the Beware Pirates Stamp set.

This was such a great project to make. I’ve ummm’d and arrrr’d (pardon the pun) over the set but now I have used it it’s way up there on my wish list.

I attached the Captain Jack Sparrow picture once I got home.   Looks good doesn’t it?

Jack Sparrow Pirates

What do you mean that’s not Johnny Depp?  Really?  Ha Ha, no you are right, it’s not.  His name is Sean George.    Like me, he’s also a  member of the UK Garrison  Reel Icons.  He’s a great Captain Jack!  Arrrr!

Well day 2 of Convention started at 6:30 am with my alarm going off, a quick get ready and half pack, breakfast and then back up to pack ready to leave on the Coach back to the event.

The morning was spent with a little bit of swapping and then onto the serious stuff....Make & Takes!!! Fabulous and fun projects made with our gorgeous stamp sets we received on Day 1 in our funky retro bag.

I'll post up some pictures for you tomorrow :-)

During the morning myself and a couple of others were called up on to the stage as we were all celebrating birthdays over the 2 days. Mine being on the Saturday.

In the afternoons' sessions of business talks and interactive sessions we had the second of our prize control. This is so cool! If you are one of the lucky people to see your name up on the big screen you have won free Stampin up products!!!

There was my name, I couldn't believe it!!! I rarely win things! Here is what I won....

It is the Artistic Etchings Stamp Set and the Newspaper Prints Designer Series Papers. I am so excited! I hadn't bought either of these yet but have seen so many stunning projects made using them at Convention. I can't wait to use them!

Can you see what's on the tag? The Rhinestones! The really do sparkle! Big time! I am yet to find rhinestones that sparkle as much as these!

It's Convention time!

So here I am, the night before Stampin' Up!s annual European Convention. Convention is a time when many, in this case nearly 300 Demonstrators, from the UK, France and Germany gather to learn, train, make papercraft goodies, make friend and swap wonderful creations as well as good business ideas.

Tomorrow is our first day where we will register and then get to see some wonderful SU items only available to Demonstrators in the Momento Mall.

Then it's onto training sessions, make and takes and plenty of swapping.

In the evening we are off to the awards dinner. I can't wait. This is the first time I have been able to come.

I will post up as many photos that I can of the swaps that I receive over the next 2 days for you so you can join me virtually at Convention.

Hugs

Elaine
