Bookmarks….Save me a spot

I do like a good book.  Even with my Kindle app on my iPhone, I still like to pick up a proper book to read.  There's something about curling up holding a book, the smell of the paper, whether it be a new book or a comfy favourite old one.  And for a book you should have a book mark, and what better than to have one that you have made yourself?

Now even if you don’t read lots of books then there is really only one book that you should have a bookmark for and that is your very fabulous Stampin’ Up! Catalogue!

Well a little while ago I made a whole batch of bookmarks for my catalogue launch party and I realised that I never got around to showing them.

Aren’t they fab?

I made an Early Espresso backing that was edged using the Scallop Trim Border punch, and attached a Whisper White Panel in front.  I punched out a 1 3/4 circle in each of the 5 new 2012/2013 in-colors and arranged those on top.

Using the very versatile Circle Circus set i stamps and image in each of the in-colors, punched these out and glued them directly onto their corresponding circles.

And Early Espresso tab was added to the top and a hole punched through using my Crop-a-dile just did the trick to thread through my Early Espresso Scallop Edge ribbon.

Very easy and no self-respecting Stampin’ Up! catalogue should be without one!

Happy Valentines Day everyone!

See you soon.

I told you I like Bookmarks……

Hee Hee.  I couldn’t resist another Bookmark.  And this is made entirely from scraps left over from other projects I've done.

I used up some Night of Navy, Old Olive & Daffodil Delight cardstock.  A touch of Daffodil Delight Grosgrain Ribbon and a couple of Basic Pearls on the greeting.

The stamp sets used are Oval All and Tiny Tags.  You can make some fantastic backgrounds using the different elements from the Tiny Tags set.

Book Mark 2

Quick & Easy to make.

Why not go through your scraps and make a bookmark for someone?

I’m sure there will be at least one or two more soon. Winking smile

Beautiful Bookmarks!

Why oh why I haven’t made these sooner I don’t know!

They are so simple  to make and yet look so stunning!

Book Mark 1

So Saffron, Pretty in Pink and Certainly Celery were the order of the day colour wise.  I used the 5 Petal Flower punch and the Boho Blossom Punch to make the flowers, securing them together with a Gold Brad.  The handy Crop-a-dile was used to punch through 3 layers of cardstock and then secure the Jumbo Eyelet so that i could thread the Certainly Celery Ribbon through.

The sentiment Always is from the Always Elegant stamp set which was then punch out with the Large Ova Punch and mounted inside the Scallop Oval.

I’m thinking of making a few of these for the teachers at my sons Pre-School Playgroup as he leaves this year to go onto Reception in September.  I can’t believe he is getting so big now!

Do you know anyone who reads, perhaps your children, parents, auntie or Uncle?  Why not send me pictures of your book marks and I'll post them up on here with a link back to your blog if you have one.
