New Stampin’ Up! Catalogue Blog Hop

Well Hello there!

Thank you for joining in the New Catalogue Blog Hop.

2012

Hopefully you’ve come from the lovely  Sarah's blog. If not don’t worry. There is a list at the bottom of everyone involved with all the blog addresses for you. So you can either start at the beginning or just carry on from here and work your way around until you get back here again.

We here we are, new catalogue time! And such an exciting time too!!! New stamp sets, new in-colors (OMG they are just gorgeous!!!), New Stampin’ UP! Sizzix Dies, FABRIC!!!!!! Love it all!!
So what projects do I have for you today? Well where to start?

Thing is, as  a Demonstrator we do get the opportunity to purchase select items a month prior to the new catalogue release. So, for the past month, myself like many other Demo’s, have been busy beavering away building up a stock of new projects to display and share! So do you like that idea?  You do?  Well get in touch I would be happy to chat to you about joining my team!

So here are a few for you….

First up is:

This is a gorgeous Cosmetic Purse made with the new Flirtatious Designer Fabric!  I haven’t sewn in many years nor had I ever put in a zip!!!  Well with this project not only was there a lot of sewing (mostly by machine) but also a zip!  Go Me!!

DSC01909
The green felt came from hobbycraft, it was some I already had in my stash.  I cut the flowers out using my Big Shot and the Fun Flowers Die.  Here’s the inside…

DSC01910
I love the way the fabrics compliment each other.  I’m going to have so much fun with these new fabrics.
Ok back to cards.  My next project is a little notelet using the new, and very cute set Easy Events.
8 fabulous images and sentiments for nearly every occasion.  It’s such a great all rounder.  I love them all.
DSC01974

I stamped the image onto Whisper White card using Black Staz On ink.  The colour was added using my Blender Pens.  It never ceases to amaze me how these can pick up colour and then transfer them to your images.  A Basic Rhinestone to the middle flower and then mounted onto Lucky Limeade Cardstock and Wisteria Wonder Textured cardstock.

Ok OK I can’t leave the fabric alone.  I’m sorry.  But I have to show you this…

It’s a pin cushion!
DSC01925 - Copy
It started out as  a preserving jar, called a mason jar.  It’s got this fabulous raised design on the glass which I think is the company logo of the manufacturer.  It really does work well.  You can’t see it properly but I filled it with ribbon and cotton reels that all matched or co-ordinated with the Flirtatious Designer Fabric that I used to make the pin cushion on top.

Well I hope you like what you have seen today.  Please do leave a message.  I love to see what you all thought.

I’m sorry there’s not more but I have my New Idea Book & Catalogue Launch Open House today and I have had to save some projects as a surprise for the girls .  But I will be bringing more projects soon, so make sure you check back.

Now if you haven’t already grabbed a cuppa, go do so and then hop on over to the lovely Sarah's blog to see what delights she has in store.  I know I will be shortly!

Here is the list of everyone involved just in case you get stuck along the way.

It's Here!! it's Here!! It's Here!!!

Yes Yes Yes!

The new, and very very gorgeous 2011 - 2012 Idea Book and Catalogue is here!!

And OMG what a fabulous one it is too!!!  There is so so much in it!  I love it!  Can you tell??

There are loads more punches - Love punches, there are loads more sizzix dies - Gotta have them, there are new and totally gorgeous Designer Series Papers - Need Need Need them.  And then there is fabric!  The Designer Fabric is just stunning!

And whats more, there ae some fantastic new changes to oue hostess benefits!!!

I am really excited about this change! It makes our fabulous Hostess Reward program even more fabulous. Gone are the old Hostess Levels!

Instead the hostess simply receives Hostess £’s  based on the totalling sales. She then is free to choose how to spend her money, either on hostess exclusive sets or on main catalogue items of her choice.  How cool is that?  This is so much more flexible and guess what else is really cool?  A total order of £150 will ensure you can still afford the most expensive hostess set in the book if you fancy it, so no longer  need you & your guests to spend £500+ to get a bigger more expensive set!

Check out the new Hostess Table...

And did you notice that if your workshop sales total is over £300 you can earn an item out of the catalogue at an amazing 50% off!!  What will you by?

Look out for some truly fabulous promotions coming soon!

Thanks for stopping by.

A modern Christmas Card

Now as much as I love the traditional style Christmas cards, once in a while it is great to go a little in the other direction and use modern styles or colours.

DSC01966

The colours are Melon Mambo, Concord Crush and Old Olive. I stamper the bauble images from the Tree Trimmings stamp set in Concord crush onto Whisper White and cut out.

The two bottom layers have been edged with the Scallop Trim Border. To finish it off Old Olive Striped Grosgrain.

DSC01872

The hanging string has been embossed in gold directly onto the base card. The baubles attached with Stampin Dimensionals and a Basic Rhinestone for a touch of bling.

Hope you like it.

Pop back soon.  Well on the 1st October for some very exciting project made with goodies from the new Idea Book & Catalogue.

Take Care

Welcome to the Blog Hop!

Hi and welcome to the ILWS (In Love With Stamping) Retiring Blog Hop.

Just dropped by? Not sure what a Blog hop is? No worries, I’ll explain….. A blog Hop is where a group of people all join in collectively to set up a post on their blogs to go live at the same time on the same day giving you, our fabulous visitors, some pretty awesome projects as you hop from blog to blog. In a second you’ll see the details for who is before me in this blog hop and at the end of this post you’ll see the details of the next person in the Blog Hop. Hopefully you’ll make your way round everyone who was involved picking up some fabulous projects, tips and ideas along the way.

I’ll also post at the end the entire list of Blogs involved just in case a link is broken along the way and you can come back here to find the next one in the hop.

Hopefully you have joined me from the lovely Julie’s Blog?   I’ll be off blog hopping later today to check things out too. I’m so excited to see what everyone has made!
Our blog hop as you’ve probably guessed was inspired by the retiring products from our current catalogue. Now hopefully the projects that you see will inspire you to purchase those goodies that you have wanted for ages but have just not got around to purchasing, or perhaps will give you some inspiration to using that particular stamp set or papers that you have in your crafty stash but are yet to use.

Right let’s get on to projects shall we?

First up is geared around my most favourite time of the year…Christmas. I love Christmas. I love everything about Christmas. My saddest part of the holidays is when the decorations come down as it means it’s over. But until then I can make lots and lots of fabulous projects & cards.

DSC01863

The three projects you can see all use papers found in the Jolly Holidays Designer Series Papers. They are just gorgeous.

First up is the Origami (Kirigami) Christmas Tree Card. It’s so simple to make and so adorable! The trunk of the tree is just a piece of Chocolate chip card with some lines drawn on using the Chocolate chip marker pen.  I mounted the tree onto a Top Note die cut of Cherry Cobbler and stamped in Cherry Cobbler with the Sanded background stamp.  I just love the texture that this retiring stamp gives. Some gold brads just for that bit of bling.

DSC01864                  DSC01868

Next up is a very simple decoration, one that you can get the children making.

DSC01870

For this I used the gorgeous Jolly Holliday Designer Series Paper. All you do is start off with a square of Double sided Designer Series Papers.  Mine was 3 inches x 3 inches.   Fold diagonally corner to corner, then again to make a triangle. cut 3 lines up from one diagonal to the other BUT leave 5mm at the other side.  Open it up and alternate opening up the cut lines and glue.  If you make 5 of these you can then attach them together to make a 3D snowflake.  There are ton’s of tutorials for this on the web.

And lastly in the Christmas goodies is the paper pinecone. All you need for this is a polystyrene ball or egg, 1 sheet of 12x12 Designer series paper cut into 2” x 1” strips, some short pins (Sequin pins) and some ribbon. Oh and a thimble!!!  Believe me, you really need a thimble.

DSC01866             DSC01867

Moving away from Christmas are a couple of other projects for you, using retiring stamp sets.

First up is this adorable matchbook pocket calendar.

DSC01885      DSC01887  DSC01886

I just love it. Made in Chocolate Chip, So Saffron and Pretty in pink.  The stamp set used is the wonderful Simply Said.  It is so girly and just perfect for this type of project.  These are great stocking fillers, teacher or family gifts and so easy to make.

And lastly using the same colour combo as the Matchbook Diary is a lovely “We’ve Moved” card made using just the “Neighborhood” Jumbo Stampin’ wheel.

DSC01881

DSC01883             DSC01884

I used Basic Black to stamp the row of house onto a piece of Whisper White card, and again on to a spare piece.  I picked out one house on the spare piece, coloured it in and cut it out,  mounted it onto the other using Stampin’ Dimensionals.  A little bit of Old Olive for the grass and shrubs and mounted all this onto So Saffron and Pretty in Pink matting.  Finally mounted onto a Chocolate Chip card base.

I hope you’ve enjoyed your time on here, now off you go to the next one. Up next is the wonderful Sandra’s blog http://www.kraftybiker.blogspot.com/

I can not wait to see what Sandra has in store for us.

Bye for now.

Something New to Try…

Oh gosh I just love this card!  Even hubby said – Oh wow that’s good!

DSC01782

I’d never made one of these before; I know I know where have I been??  But I found this template or should I say instructions to this while hunting on the web.  I can’t for the life of me now track it down again.

It’s a stepper card with no real measuring as such.  Well it said no measuring but me being me I had to measure…just a little.

Take an A5 piece of cardstock, fold it in half as you would for a normal card.

Turn the card to landscape, and then measure about 8 cm in which is where I made my cut.  And cut from the fold down about half way.  Yes I did measure this too…I can’t help it!

Fold the right hand side in on itself to make the valley and crisp the fold with a bone folder.  That’s it, all there is to making the base.  Simple!  Just exactly how I like things the first time I try them!

So, the card base is our gorgeous and lush Rich Razzleberry.  I used Pretty in Pink cardstock for the matting and the Rich Razzleberry DSP from Designer Series Papers Stack that matches the Artistic Etchings stamp set.  Isn’t it gorgeous?
DSC01786

The images are all stamped in Rich Razzleberry onto Very Vanilla Cardstock and cut by hand.  Except for the Amour wording, which I used our fab Word Window punch which then sits nicely onto the Modern label punched piece.  A couple of gold brads just finish that part off.

Now the little detail that I just love love love!  Is the ribbon faux bow.  It’s just a small piece of this month’s offer ribbon, Striped Grosgrain in Rich Razzleberry.  You can get this free with an order of £75 and it comes with a absolutely stunning little cosmetic bag (I used mine for my craft tools) and not only that also a small tub of 24 different clips.  Fabulous for adding to cards and scrapbook pages.
DSC01785

I stamped the image from Artistic Etchings onto Very Vanilla, cut it out,  and put a gold brad through the centre.  Pulled the little brad legs apart and pinched the ribbon together closing the brad legs around the ribbon.  I attached this to the card with some glue dots.  Love those little dots for quick and easy sticking!

The one thing that I did love about this card, other than the very little measuring, was that it ended up no bigger than a usual size card that I would normally make and so I didn’t need to buy any other envelopes other than the lovely Stampin’ Up! Very Vanilla C6 envelope.

I hope you like it.
